This is your daily horoscope for Thursday, April 9th, 2026. All times are Pacific Standard Time. Now around 4 30 a.m., Mercury exits its post-retrograde shadow period in Pisces. This is taking place at 22 degrees. So if you have any planets or placements around 22 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces, you will feel the benefits of this the most intensely. Essentially, this just means that we are done with our personal and collective Mercury retrograde stories. That Mercury has officially retraced its steps through the retrograde journey and is moving forward into new territory. So yeah, it just means that we've kind of wrapped up our personal Mercury retrograde stories and we are now moving forward in a new area of the church. Now around 5 30 a.m., the moon in Capricorn forms a trine with Venus in Taurus. This is really beautiful energy for embodiment, for working with the material realm, whether it's gardening, connecting to your sensual side, having a gentle conversation in your relationships, for feeling creatively inspired, or for taking something you're passionate about and bringing it into the material world or realm in some way. This is lovely energy to start out your day. Now around 12:30 p.m., Mars enters Aries. And this is a huge deal because we just had that Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the sign of Aries on February 20th. And that has major effects personally, geopolitically, and it took place at zero degrees. And so once Mars enters Aries, it is reactivating that very sensitive degree point. It will, you know, start out at zero degrees, right where we had that Saturn-Neptune conjunction. Now, Mars is this planet of motivation, anger, war, severing, and drive and force. And personally, it will add some tension to the airy section of our birth chart, or it will require us to put more focus and attention in that area of our life, or we might be navigating some sort of challenge. Now, geopolitically, you don't need an astrologer to tell you that things are escalating worldwide. And you know, what I would probably define as just pure hatred. At my time of recording, just a few days ago, Israel is now the first state to implement an ethnicity-based death penalty since Nazi Germany. Israel just passed a law that makes the death penalty the default sentence for Palestinians convicted of deadly attacks considered to be acts of quote-unquote terrorism. Palestinians have a 99.74% conviction rate in their courts. Yet for Israelis, it's a conviction rate of 1.9% for crimes against Palestinians, and the death penalty is illegal. We are continuing to watch this completely illegal and horrific war unfold in Iran. The ongoing blockade in Cuba is also genocidal. There was one night in particular where news from Cuba came out and said that the night prior, because there was no energy, every single baby that was in the NICU died. Every patient that was on a ventilator died. This is fully preventable, and it is fully at the responsibility and due to the United States of America. And I just want to acknowledge that we are watching this genocidal regime and country which is founded on genocide. We're watching it crumble in real time. And so two things when Mars enters Aries, this all might get worse. I'm not saying that to fear a monger, but just to be real and to be aware. April's astrology is some of the most intense astrology of the year. Actually, all of 2026 is pretty intense, but April in particular builds up to this Mars-Saturn conjunction that's taking place around the 19th and the 20th. And that's taking place in the sign of Aries. Mars is the planet of war, Aries is a zodiac sign associated with the fighter, the warrior, the militant. And so this energy is intensifying. Now, at the same time, Mars is at home in Aries. It is a place where it thrives. It's one of its favorite zodiac signs to be in because it's better able to achieve those Martian qualities and desires. And we can use that to our benefit. We can stand up for what we believe in. We can get involved in the revolution. We can change ourselves, our small little patterns and our daily habits to reflect the world in which we want to see, and then pour that outward into larger habits that also have a ripple effect on the collective. So this is a time for you to protest, to create art as resistance, to get involved in your local community. This is really helpful energy. It is energizing, it is motivating to all of us that we can access to fight on behalf of the collective to help this dying genocidal empire crumble. Something I think is so crazy is and so simple. One of the first things we teach our kids is how to share, right? And if you really think about a world in which we are not destroying the earth and ravaging the earth and ravaging and destroying people of the global majority and just filled with greed, it will require us to share. Capitalism, democracy, the system as it is is not going to save us. The system as it is is still very much rooted in the days of chattel slavery. The prison industrial complex is a modernized version of enslavement. Indigenous people in this country, black people in this country have not seen reparations for the harm and atrocities done against them. The system as it is is not going to save us. And so we have to dream and build a new one. And so, yes, will this period be intense? Surely, but it is also an opportunity for each of us to take some of that extra motivating energy because when Mars is in Aries, we do have a little bit more energy and momentum generally, depending on where Aries is in your birth chart. And this can help really rally us towards creating this world to use our voice, to stand up, to get in arguments, to fight back in whatever way that looks like, because it's going to be different for each one of us. I think I mentioned this in last week's episode, but very soon I will be starting to share some guided meditations that focus on collective liberation that help us visualize and embody a world where no one is oppressed, where we are sharing, where we are free, where justice is restored, balance has been restored. So I'll definitely make sure to mention that. Sure, it's important for us to stay informed, but when we are just stuck in this cycle of despair and we're not also using our very sacred and powerful energy to co-create and visualize and embody and imagine and dream up the world that we're wanting and the world that we deserve, then the oppressors win because they have captured all of our attention and our energy. And again, I just want to reiterate it is so important to stay informed. It is necessary at this time in our life and in the world. But what I'm saying is maybe we can take 10 minutes a day or a few times a week to take our sacred and powerful energy and start funneling it and really actively using it to create this world that we all deserve. Anywho, I'll keep you all posted when I am ready to launch that in the near future. The actual shooter, James' cousin, Demarius Cummings, was sentenced to life without parole for his role in the crime. And Demarius has now admitted that he was the one who actually committed the murders during a robbery outside of their music studio in Dallas in 2008 and that it was not James. Demarius's admission is also corroborated by the presence of his DNA on the murder weapon and on one of the victims themselves. And there are many other concerning facets of this case as well, including the prosecutor's efforts to remove all prospective black jurors from the jury pool. Please join me and others in urging Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to commune the sentence of James Broadnacks in the interest of fairness and justice. You can call every single day, you can sign the petition every single day, and please share it far and wide. Your voice matters, James's life matters, and together we can save an innocent man. Later on, around 2 p.m., the moon and Capricorn will form an opposition with Jupiter in Cancer. And this can be a moment of excitement. Sometimes it's a moment of overdoing it or needing to recognize your own limits. This can be a moment of celebration, of making progress on some of your goals, or even standing firmly in your beliefs. Sometimes this is a big emotional response. So maybe you're feeling your feelings that you've neglected, or you're having a happy cry, or maybe you learn lucky news. But this is definitely energy that can bring up big feelings. Now around 10 p.m. we have a last quarter moon in Capricorn. This is taking place at 20 degrees. So if you have any planets or placements around 20 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn, you're the main characters. And this will bring you back to the April 1st full moon in Libra. This is part of the moon cycle where we are shedding, releasing, reflecting on what isn't working and just surrendering to it so we can actually create space for new ideas, intentions, people, and opportunities to find us.
