This is your daily horoscope for Wednesday, August 19th, 2026. All times are Pacific Standard Time. Before we dive in to today's episode and this week's batch of episodes, if you are listening over on Patreon, I want to address something that's been unfolding in the astrology community. A very well-known astrologer who has been considered a legend, a teacher in this community, Stephen Forrest. He teaches evolutionary astrology. He used a racial slur and he said some pretty horrific things about black people. And there are a lot of conversations going on in the astrology community. And I think it's super important that we address it and that we talk about it because the micro is a reflection of the macro. And whether or not you are involved in the astrology community, if you're just astro curious, if you just know your sun sign, or if you are someone who attends conferences or are a part of the astrology organizations, I've never attended a conference myself, or and I'm not affiliated or a part of any of the organizations. But this is an important thing to acknowledge, to name, and to demand accountability for. Because since this podcast episode was released with Stephen Forrest, he has released a slew of quote unquote statements and quote unquote apologies that have centered himself and have not acknowledged the harm and have not created space for repair. And it's unacceptable. So I just want to name that flat out that in my spiritual practice and my personal beliefs, if you haven't picked up on it by now, there is a zero tolerance policy for hate speech, for bigotry, for racism of any type. And the reason why it is so harmful and violent is because racism is still alive and well today. If you've been following along on the news, there have been a string of lynchings in the South, especially in Mississippi in the past few months. There's gonna be a link in my bio to remove Stacey Turner, who is a coroner in Jackson, Mississippi, who has been ruling deaths of black people who have been lynched and making these rulings that they are either undetermined or they died by suicide without even a proper investigation, without even looking into the details of what happened to these people. And no mainstream media news outlets are covering this from what I've seen. And it's super important that we bring awareness to this, that we talk about it, because the KKK racism, it still exists, even if you're not seeing people walk around in white robes and white hats. The KKK are embedded in our everyday lives. They are police officers, they can be judges, they can be coroners, they can be doctors, and they participate in this wider system of oppression and racism and deep hateful violence. So one tiny action that you can take today, that we can take, is to try to hold Mississippi's coroner accountable. She is also handling the Nolan Wells case and to try to at least remove her from her position. Um but the link here for me is that the micro, this incident in the astrology community, as niche and small as the astrology community is, is a representation of the macro. And we know that the United States was born on genocide, the genocide of indigenous people and of black people who were brought here for Chatel slavery. I said this a few weeks ago in one of my episodes, but just to be clear, I will never outright claim or state that I am an anti-racist or that I am an ally or a comrade or an abolitionist. Those are all a part of my value systems. I strive to embody those values every single day. But as a white person, I don't think it is a destination that we ever fully reach. It is conscious daily learning and unlearning that requires effort on an ongoing basis. And it's super important to use our voices, use our power and our privilege to do what we can to dismantle these hateful and violent systems and to also in times of harm to center those who are harmed and to center their lived experience and their voices and to really just shut up and listen and create the conditions to be accountable, to offer repair if and when we can. There's no such thing as being perfect. I believe everyone can be racist or do something racist. We live in a society that is embedded with white narcissism and capitalism and imperialism and col colonization, right? So I believe in a world where we are all free. I believe in a world that is possible where we center our divine responsibility to one another. And one of my deepest prayers and hopes with the South Node moving through Leo is that we release our collective cowardice. And with the North Node in Aquarius, is that we remember our divine responsibility to one another. A lot of the mainstream astrology that people do consume and that is popular is based on Western Hellenistic astrology, which stems from the Roman Greco era. Now, the Greeks, the Romans, they didn't invent astrology. It was around thousands of years before them. Indigenous people all over the world used astrology, had relationships and conversations with the heavens and the skies, and this is something that has been whitewashed and ignored and kind of just repressed. So it's important to remember that a lot of the astrology books were written by old white men, and a lot of the teachers out there are old white men. And just a friendly reminder: like if you are someone who is consuming spiritual content, to really pay attention to who you are learning from. Are they respectful of the lineage of whatever spiritual practice that they are teaching or that you are learning about? Who are their teachers? What are their values? What are their ethics? These are all very important things to consider. Astrology has always been and always will be political. I think there's no spirituality that can separate or ignore the suffering in the world. True spiritual practice, in my opinion, does not ignore the harm and the suffering in the world. It leads with an open heart and compassion and the creativity and the imagination to fight back, to ensure that we are all safe and fed and housed and cared for. And that I know that a world like that does exist. So I will fight for that until my last breath. And as I'm recording this under the solar eclipse in Leo, it is my hope for you too that you will find a way in which to share some of your unique gifts, creativity, and talent, and funnel it back into the collective to help build the world in which we all deserve. Okay, thank you. So the action starts out around 1 a.m. when the moon and Scorpio forms a square with Mercury and Leo. This is chatty energy. It's a moment where you're having an important conversation. It could be a moment where you're catching up on text messages, emails, you're working on a writing project. There could be a disagreement. These two planets are in fixed signs. So there could be this tendency to kind of, you know, lock heads with someone else in a certain way. But it could also be a time where you're just busy or you feel like you have to make an important decision or you're in high demand around this time, or you're chattier than normal. Now, the main event of the day takes place around 746 p.m. We have the first quarter moon in Scorpio. This is taking place at 27 degrees. So if you have any planets or placements around 27 degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius, you are the main characters. The first quarter moon is going to bring us back to the new moon solar eclipse in Leo that took place on August 12th. So this is the part of the moon cycle where we are taking action on whatever unfolded on that eclipse. So it could be a decision you're ready to make, a conversation you're ready to have, taking the first step on a goal or an idea, or just the plot is moving along. So whatever you surrendered to and experienced under the eclipse, the plot is now proceeding today. So this is busy energy. It might be emotional energy. It might require you to navigate some depths, some power struggles to dig up the taboo or what's been hidden in the shadows, but it can also bring a sense of empowerment and healing in the process.
